The Happiness of Kati (ความสุขของกะทิ) is a novel written by Ngarmpun Vejjajiva. The story revolves around a nine-year-old girl named Kati, who lives with her grandparents near a river. Her life is happy and simple until her grandmother asks her to visit her mother, who is very ill with motor neuron disease. Kati agrees and travels to her mother's house near the sea, where she learns the truth about her mother's condition. The novel was awarded the S.E.A. Write Award for Thailand in 2006 and was later adapted into a movie in 2009.
