Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch is a shōjo manga and anime series created by Michiko Yokote with artwork by Pink Hanamori. The story follows Lucia Nanami, the mermaid princess of the North Pacific Ocean, and her journey to protect the seven scattered pieces of a pearl that holds the power to save both the human world and the mermaid kingdom. Along the way, she forms a singing group with other mermaid princesses, using their voices to battle against the evil forces that threaten their world. The series originally ran as a manga in Nakayoshi magazine, with 32 chapters compiled into seven volumes. It was also adapted into a 91-episode anime series, divided into two seasons, with the second season titled Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure. The series aired from April 2003 to December 2004.
