D.N.Angel is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukiru Sugisaki. The story follows Daisuke Niwa, an average middle schooler who awakens his phantom thief alter ego Dark Mousy after being rejected by his crush. Daisuke learns that the transformation is an inherited trait shared by the males in his family, and his mission is to collect and purify stolen pieces of art. The series was adapted into a 26-episode anime, and also had a video game and drama CDs. The manga premiered in 1997 and concluded in 2021. It has been licensed for English release by Tokyopop.
