Crusher Joe is a series of science fiction novels written by Haruka Takachiho and published from 1977 to 2005. It was adapted into an animated film in 1983 and two OVA episodes in 1989. The story follows the Crusher Council, a group of rugged individuals known for their assignments ranging from transportation to terraforming. They subscribe to a few steadfast rules and have a reputation for their elite team led by Crusher Dan and his successor, Crusher Joe. The series also has a manga adaptation titled Crusher Joe Rebirth. The film and OVA series were licensed for English release by Discotek Media in 2016.
